Continued momentum shows value of Computer 2000’s Collection of Specialists and multi-model approach11.05.2011Computer 2000, the UK arm of Tech Data, has pointed to its continued business momentum as a clear indication of the success of its Collection of Specialists and multi-model approach to the market. During the first quarter of this year, the company continued to make good progress towards its strategic objectives in the UK and Ireland, with its specialist divisions performing particularly well during challenging economic conditions.
Strong investment in people and processes are providing a solid foundation for further business development. Over the past year, the company has added well over 100 new people to its headcount, almost all of them bringing additional expertise and skills to the specialist business divisions. It also recently announced the launch of a new specialist business unit – Consumer Electronics, which brings together three elements of business that have, until now, been managed through other parts of the group and is, from the outset, already a business that is generating very significant revenues indeed.
Andy Gass, Managing Director of Computer 2000 UK and Ireland, said: “Our continued investment in people and refinement of our business model has enabled us to move forward at a time when other distributors have found it difficult to make any progress. Our business today is a true Collection of Specialists through which we deliver all the benefits of a value-added distributor with expert capabilities and technology understanding, together with a best-in-class logistics engine.
“Our multi-technology, multi-channel model meanwhile, enables us to deliver many different kinds of products and solutions to different types of customers. This is the strategy model we believe we need going forward to provide a strong foundation for our people, our manufacturers and our customers. We have invested for growth and we’ll be investing more in the future because we believe that there is more we can deliver.”
