Jim Michel is joining the business as the new
Managing Director of UK and Ireland. Jim will commence his duties on October 10
th and will report to myself.
“Jim has 30 years’ experience and an in depth understanding of mobile phones having served in a number of senior positions. He is a respected personality in the industry and has an amazing record with both manufacturers and networks.
“Jim is perfectly placed to drive Brightstar forward in 2012 and beyond, cementing our position as the UK’s No.1 distributor and the leading specialist in smartphone sales and services.”
Jim’s most recent position was Head of the UK Mobile Division at LG Electronics and before that was Vice President of UK and Ireland for leading telecoms manufacturer Motorola. In the formative years of mobile phone development, Jim controlled UK purchasing at Vodafone before furthering his career at T-Mobile as Head of the Terminals Division.
He replaces Richard Turner who left the business earlier this month
to take up a senior role with Google.
